Hard working family man Shane Cardona has done extremely well against some tough opposition in his 1st competition. Following up after his brother's (Chris) debut last year, Shane took to the stage in the ANB South Coast Titles on the 18th of May. Thinking that it would be a smaller show to go and get some good experience, it proved to be not small at all. With the ANB breaking records for a regional show on competitor numbers, it was always going to be tough.
First off he stepped out in the Novice mens division. With about 15 competitors which were all of high quality it was going to be tough. But showing a full, hard and conditioned physique Shane made his presence felt on stage. In the end he placed 3rd, but with respect to the competitors he could have easily been put into 1st place and im sure not too many in the crowd would have argued.
After that he had to back it up for the under 80kg division. Again with tough cometition Shane stood out and made everyone take notice. After some hard long judging he ended up in 2nd place. Now with the experience and nerves out of his system Shane will take it in his stride to further himself and make sure he puts up a showing later in the year for the national titles. But first off there he has the ANB Sydney titles being held at Castle Hill this Sunday 25th of May. Also competiting will be Anthony Lawrence and Arthur Vickers. Lets hope they all come in better condition than ever before and bring home some more trophies. Wish you the best of luck boys! You can check out more photos of Shane in the athlete section.
